Refuge du Marret

Refuge du Marret is an unstaffed mountain hut at 1,820 m in the Lauzière massif, used for backcountry overnight stays by hikers and mountaineers. It sleeps about 8 people on mattresses and has a wood stove/fireplace, with a nearby water source close to the chalet (within roughly 100 m).

Access is on a first-come, first-served basis (no bed reservation is required). Plan to carry your own food and a sleeping bag/liner; the hut provides blankets, stove hardware, and cooking basics. Capacity can feel tight in peak arrivals—several reports mention places for 7/8 and space tightness when fully used.
