Refuge du Petit lac is a wilderness backcountry shelter on the Sentier des Caps route network in Charlevoix. It’s set up for overnight stays and is reserved for groups who book in advance through the operator’s reservation system; the hut is shared with other reservations and can also be accessed by day customers.

Capacity is for up to 8 people. Inside you’ll find a wood stove with firewood, an axe, and paper; a dry toilet is nearby, and there is a water point near the refuge (treat or boil water from the trails as instructed—water points are not listed for every nearby refuge on the network). You should bring a sleeping bag and a sleeping pad (floor mattress), plus standard refuge gear such as a headlamp, stove/fuel, utensils, toilet paper, and a water filter or tablets.

Reserving involves a 50% non-refundable deposit paid by credit card, and if you cancel within 3 days of the start of the reservation, you pay 100% of the total cost of the nights reserved. Outdoor fires at the refuge or campsite are strictly forbidden, with additional charges possible if regulations are not respected.
