Refuge du Plan du Lac
Refuge du Plan du Lac is a backcountry alpine refuge in the Vanoise massif, used in summer by hikers as a guided overnight stop. The refuge operates during the summer period (June through September) and is reached by backcountry approaches where you’ll typically plan your day around the staffed season rather than relying on year-round access.
Services include a shower (20 places), a cooking range/plate, toilets, a backup radio, and a wood stove. Outside the staffed season it’s closed, but there is winter access to the winter refuge with 20 sleeping places, plus a wood and gas supply; plan accordingly for self-sufficient winter use.
To stay overnight in the summer season, you need to reserve online. The refuge provides contact by phone (plus French mobile numbers) and lists accommodation/stay details through its operator’s reservation flow.
