Refuge du Sotré

Refuge du Sotré is a backcountry mountain refuge at about 1,200 m in the Haut-Chitelet area of the Vosges, just off the GR5 and on the edge of La Bresse’s ski domain. From here you can reach the Col de Falimont on foot in roughly 20 minutes and the summit of the Hohneck in about 30 minutes.

The refuge runs as an alpine lodging and meals stop with on-site bedrooms (11 rooms) configured for shared use: there are no double or single rooms, only arrangements of shared beds. Use hours are limited by a weekly closure: it is shut from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning at 9:00, with closure all day Monday as well.

Access is by road in summer via the Route des crêtes (D430), with parking near the refuge. In winter, leave the car at the parking at the top of the access track on the Route des crêtes and walk the final 300 m on foot; luggage transfer can be arranged on request for school groups and for people with disabilities.
