Refuge La Cabane à Sucre
Refuge La Cabane à Sucre is a Parc national du Mont Orford backcountry hut run by SEPAQ. It sits in the same trail network used for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and summer hiking, with access from the Le Cerisier Discovery and Visitors Centre about 2 km away.
The hut sleeps up to 24 people in shared dorm-style beds and uses a propane stove for heat/cooking. It has no electricity or running water. You’ll find 24 secure storage boxes inside that require your own padlock, and cooking/equipment access includes a propane stove plus an exterior 2-burner setup. Fees/rates start around $33 per person per night (with taxes and park entry fees not included), and reservations can be made online or by phone. During winter, a snowmobile baggage service is available with at least 24 hours’ notice; the hut’s open season is generally winter into early spring, depending on weather and snow conditions.
