Refuge La Grande-Vue
Refuge La Grande-Vue is a backcountry hut on Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix, run through the same refuge network that also includes other huts and camping options. Use is rustic: the refuge area provides a wood stove and firewood, plus a large pot, a picnic table, dry toilet(s) nearby, and a shelter operating setup meant for overnight stays.
The hut sleeps up to 10 people, and it’s positioned as a refuge without a nearby water point—bring your own water or plan to treat water found on the trails. Fires are prohibited outside the refuge/camping area; additional charges may be applied if firewood rules aren’t followed.
For sleeping, bring a sleeping mat and sleeping bag, plus standard hut survival items such as a stove and fuel, matches/lighter, utensils/dishes, toilet paper, spare clothing, headlamp/batteries, and a small repair kit. You’ll also want a water filter or treatment tablets and enough food for your stay, with a garbage bag to pack out all waste.
Overnight reservations are required through the Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix reservation system, with pricing shown per person and depending on the number of people and dates (dates marked as unavailable can’t be selected). Dogs are not allowed for long hikes/overnight stays in refuge or camping within the Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix rules.
