Refuge La Loutre

Refuge La Loutre is a backcountry wilderness hut in Parc régional de la Forêt Ouareau (Massif sector), managed by Parc régional de la Forêt Ouareau. It’s a small refuge with capacity for 2 people (2 mattresses) and requires a reservation.

Access is on foot, snowshoe, or skis only, about 4 km from the parking area/reception. The refuge is set up with a dry toilet (toilet paper not included) and a wood stove with firewood, plus beds and a table with chairs; there’s also an outdoor picnic table with a firepit.

Use is geared for organized stays with park reservations. The nightly rate is about $100 (including access fees as of May 2026). Dogs are not allowed, and luggage can be carried to the refuge for a fee when booked at least 72 hours in advance.
