Refuge La Plate

Refuge La Plate is a backcountry alpine refuge in the Bauges area, at about 1,300 m. It’s used on the GR 96 route and is suited for overnight stays as a stop on long-distance foot itineraries, with room for small groups and bivouac/tenting options on-site.

The refuge has dormitory accommodation (about 16+2 places) and a bivouac area for roughly 4–6 tents. It includes dry toilets and a barbecue/fireplace area, and it runs with dry-night and/or half-board catering.

For booking, use the refuge’s reservation process (by request through the refuge booking system or direct email/phone contact). Public opening is seasonal and includes a mid-June to late-August window, with the exact days and hours following the refuge planning; group stays outside the standard window can be arranged on request.
