Refuge Lac Gauthier
Refuge Lac Gauthier is an 8-person backcountry hut on the Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix in Quebec. It’s a reservation hut that provides a wood stove for heat and cooking, with firewood, a picnic table, and basic dry-toilet facilities nearby each refuge.
Sleeping arrangements and practical rules are set around a shared shelter model: you’ll find a floor mattress and bedding-equipment expectations, and you should plan around the no-outdoor-fires rule (no outdoor fires at the refuge or campsite). The hut has a wood-stove setup with firewood supplied, so bring what you need to sleep and cook (sleeping bag, water treatment, and essential gear like a headlamp and small repair kit).
Bookings use a deposit-and-balance policy: a 50% non-refundable deposit is required at booking, with the remainder due 3 days or less before arrival. Rates are listed for the hut (including fees before taxes) and the shelter is shared with other reservations, with some being accessible to day customers.
