Refuge Le Monal

Refuge Le Monal is a backcountry alpine refuge used as an overnight base in the Tarentaise Valley at 1,874 m. Stays are arranged directly with the hut keeper, and it’s a small hut with roughly 8–10 places, so plan on booking ahead for summer weekends and mid-season demand.

For an overnight, bring your own sleeping gear and a sleeping bag liner (“sac à viande”). The hut has no electricity and no internet access. Contact the hut keeper by phone to confirm rates/availability and to secure a bed for your dates; the hut is typically kept for the main summer season from mid-June to mid-September.
