Refuge pastoral de Prat-Cabrera

Refuge pastoral de Prat-Cabrera is a small, remote backcountry hut in the Canigó massif area (Estany/Estoher). It’s open even when the berger is away, and it’s meant for short stays as a free, unstaffed shelter.

The hut sits at about 1,650 m and provides sleeping space for up to 8 in winter. Summer capacity is effectively 0. The hut has a fireplace and wood, plus an interior/exterior table and benches; it’s supplied with some tools and basic tableware. No stove is provided, and there’s no running water—plan to carry everything you need, including water. Use runs on a seasonal cycle: occupied by the berger from 1 May to 31 October (with the hut still left open outside that period).
