Refuge Paul Perreault is a backcountry hut operated by Parcs régionaux MRC de Matawinie on the Sentier national network near Saint-Donat, Quebec. It’s intended for day use as a shelter, not as an overnight booking right now: the refuge is closed for overnight stays and can’t be reserved for the night; access is via the back door (the front door is unusable).

The hut sleeps up to 12 people, with 4 fixed mattresses included. Facilities include a dry toilet and a wood stove with firewood, plus a table with chairs. Bring your own toilet paper and water; pets are permitted.

The booking and rates process runs through the Parcs régionaux MRC de Matawinie reservation system (online or by phone). For individual stays, the base rate is about $45 per person per night (weekdays Monday–Thursday have a 20% discount), and weekend bookings require a minimum 2-night stay. Access is by foot, snowshoe, or skis only; typical approach distances from nearby trail access points are 6 km from Chemin Wall, 4 km from Le Grand R, or 8 km from Route 125.

Firewood use is controlled to protect the stove fuel supply: limit wood used for heating the wood stove. If you’re planning your trip around the Sentier national, keep an eye on current trail conditions updates for the wider park network before you go.
