Refuge Philosore
Refuge Philosore is a backcountry wilderness hut on the Sentier du Philosore corridor in Quebec, used by hikers making the Philosore crossing and by some day hikers. The hut sits on the shores of Lake Philosore and is reserved as an accommodation package rather than a stopover option.
It accommodates up to 8 people (4 bunk beds). It has wood-fired heating (including wood), a water source nearby that isn’t potable, and no electricity or propane gas. Campfire is prohibited and the shelter is non-smoking; snowmobiles and quads aren’t permitted in the vicinity.
Access is by foot—there’s no car access nearby—and personal belongings must be carried in. Visitors staying in accommodation must stop at St-Raymond reception before their stay to complete the latest reservation requirements and obtain access rights to activities.
Reservations are handled through the Vallée Bras-du-Nord accommodations process; the stay is “100% payable on reservation.” For this hut category, cancellations are non-refundable and non-transferable for 14 days or less before arrival; 15 to 30 days before arrival, cancellation is 30% non-refundable with an authorized date change; and 15+ days before arrival, a full refund is granted free of charge.
Daily hiking, mountain biking, and river day passes are required for visitors and aren’t included in the refuge accommodation fee. The hut package is exclusive to the “Traversée du Philosore” offer, so you shouldn’t count on it as an add-on for other itinerary types.
