Refuge Versant Ouest
Refuge Versant Ouest is a Parc régional Montagne du Diable backcountry alpine hut used for overnight stays, with capacity for up to 10 people (10 single mattresses). Use is by reservation only, with the hut kept exclusive at all times during your stay.
The hut is about 7.5 km from the P2 parking lot for hiking/snowshoeing or 7 km by Nordic skiing, and arrival and departure times are both at 10:00. Pets are not allowed, and parking-to-hut access is only permitted on foot/snow methods covered by the park’s winter trail system; VTT and snowmobile are prohibited. The building has a wood stove and heating wood plus basic cooking/water-handling items (including a place to heat water), but there’s no drinking water nearby the mountain huts—bring filters or purification tablets. Typical prices are listed as $160 + taxes per night for up to 4 people, with $35 + taxes per additional adult and $17.50 + taxes per additional child (free for children 5 and under), plus park access fees of about $7.83 + taxes per adult/night if you’re not a member.
