Refuge Yourte Delaney
Refuge Yourte Delaney is a wilderness backcountry yurt operated in the Quebec Vallée Bras-du-Nord area. The yurt accommodates up to 8 people and includes 2 bunk beds; it’s perched on a 200-metre cliff overlooking the valley and the river below.
Access and logistics are built around the Bras-du-Nord trail: it’s about a 6.6 km hike from Accueil Shannahan, with check-in procedures completed at Accueil Shannahan and departure from there. Lodging guests are required to register at Accueil Shannahan to finalize reservations and obtain their activity access rights.
Lodging rates for the shelter are shown as 155 CAD per night for Refuge Yourte Delaney (up to 8 people). Trail access isn’t included in lodging rates; you must buy daily access online and present the QR code on arrival. Campfire restrictions apply: campfire is prohibited, and there’s no electricity or propane gas; wood-fired heating is provided (including wood).
Inside, plan for a basic setup: wood-fired heating, a water source nearby that’s non-potable, and bedding essentials are not included beyond the stated items (bring your own sleeping bag and pillows). Cooking is via a propane stove, and the shelter uses lighting without electricity or propane gas; water is not considered potable in the area, so bring a filter/purification or plan to boil.
Operational rules are strict about what’s permitted near the accommodation: no campfires and no non-smoking rule violations; snowmobiles and quads are prohibited in the vicinity. For pets, dogs are allowed on leash only in the designated allowed areas listed by the operator; guests must follow the operator’s leash/handling rules and may be refused access if rules aren’t respected.
