Refugio Berghof

Refugio Berghof is a backcountry hut on Cerro Otto (Bariloche) with a long association to Otto Meiling. The hut includes a large dining room plus a kitchen and pantry, and it’s built mostly in wood; use is day-use only (no overnight stay service).

Access centers on starting from the Cerro Otto road: take the side trail along the vehicle road that begins at Km 1 of Avenida de los Pioneros, then climb on a gentle grade (about a 2-hour route on foot). The refuge opens from 13:00 to 19:00, and it can also be reached by vehicle or via the Cerro Otto teleférico (teleférico station at Av. Pioneros km 5).

From the Berghof you can visit the small Museo del Esquí, tied to Otto Meiling, and the hut runs dining with some nights including musical shows; for those services, transportation from the city is offered. The day-use profile makes it a good add-on to an Otto excursion rather than an overnight plan.
