Rerekapa Hut

Rerekapa Hut is a privately managed tramping hut in the Moki and Makino Conservation Areas (Taranaki). It’s owned and run by Rerekapa Hut Supporters Incorporated and is available to the public through a booking system. The hut is a basic backcountry shelter with 14 bunk beds, reached via the Rerekapa Track (about 1 hour 15 minutes from Kiwi Road).

It’s roughly 3–4 hours out from Kiwi Road on the Rerekapa Track. Use is by booking (basic/bivvies), and fee/availability details are handled by Rerekapa Hut Supporters Incorporated through their booking contact process. The hut has corrugated-iron construction and there’s a fire pit at the hut site.
