Silver Spray Cabin
Route Details
Silver Spray Cabin is an Alpine Club of Canada backcountry hut in Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park, built in 1920 and replaced in 1994. It’s an open-summer-only destination for strong hikers and mountaineers exploring this rugged corner of the Selkirk Mountains. The hut has a wood heat source and propane for light and stove use, includes mattress bedding, uses a creek for water, and has an outhouse bathroom; propane is provided and there’s no oven. Maximum capacity is 10.
Access is via a 7 km approach from the Woodbury trailhead (summertime access starts there), gaining over 1,000 m and typically taking 4–6 hours. Booking is required, and reservations can be made by ACC members and non-members up to 180 days in advance; BC Parks hut bookings include a non-refundable transaction fee per person per night, and there may be an additional non-resident fee for bookings made by people outside British Columbia. Hut rates are listed on the booking page (member and non-member rates, plus a BC Parks family rate that requires calling to book).
