Tawa Hut

Tawa Hut is a six-bunk Department of Conservation hut in the Waioweka Conservation Area (East Coast). It’s a standard hut with fireplace and mattress provisions, plus toilets with pitlatrine disposal.

Use is straightforward: no standard bookings are required and stays operate first come, first served. Bring a Standard Hut Ticket and put it in the honesty box at the hut; fees are $10 per night for adults (18+), $5 per night for youth (5–17), and free for children/infants (0–4). Water is untreated.
