Vance's Cabin
Vance's Cabin is a backcountry wilderness hut owned by the 10th Mountain Division Hut Association, sitting at 10,980 feet. It’s a timbered-mountainside cabin near Tennessee Pass with winter use, built starting in 1981 and completed in 1988.
The cabin layout includes 4 beds in a loft and 5 single bunk beds in a communal sleeping area, for sleeping capacity for 14 people. Use is limited to winter, with wood heat (including a wood oven) and a propane kitchen setup; there’s an outhouse for toilet service and no shower. Reservations are required, and a fee applies (listed as $546/night).
