Wharepapa Hut

Wharepapa Hut is a basic five-bunk backcountry hut in Remutaka Forest Park (Wairarapa), managed by the Department of Conservation. It’s part of the Papatahi Crossing, which can be started from Catchpool Valley or the Western Lake road.

It has an open fire and toilet facilities with pit latrine disposal. Bookings aren’t required—use is free and it’s first come, first served.
