It’s a basic log cabin built in 1975 as an emergency shelter, with one bunk, a cook counter, and a wood stove for heating. Use is first-come, first-served and there’s no charge for staying in the shelter.

Campfire is allowed. The shelter is described as an 8' x 10' structure and is intended for travelers on the Wickersham Creek Trail; it sits on the left (west) side of the trail when approaching from the Wickersham Dome Trailhead area.
