Ymir Backcountry Lodge

Ymir Backcountry Lodge is a backcountry alpine hut/cabin with sleeping for 16, operated as a paid stay that requires a reservation. It’s set up for groups arriving by remote access rather than day-use, and it has no internet service available on-site.

Operationally, the lodge is described as having limited power/communications (satellite phone; cell service only from higher ridges), and water is handled on-site (water brought in; hot water available, with a sponge-bath style setup). Bathrooms are composting toilets outside, and a wood-fired system is used for heating water in the hut.

Stay plans are disrupted by a Crown-land land-use authorization issue: the lodge’s tenure was ordered to cease operations and the operator has been advised not to book services through an unauthorized operator/arrangement.
