Yurt 5

Yurt 5 is one of the Moenkopi Yurts at Dead Horse Point State Park near Moab, Utah. Use it as a reserved backcountry-style base on the mesa with built-in sleeping space for up to 6 people: a bunk bed plus a pullout futon couch. The yurt is equipped with heating/air conditioning, electrical outlets, a mini-fridge and microwave, and an outdoor propane grill for cooking on-site. Modern restroom facilities are within easy walking distance, and bedding is not provided.

Reservations are handled through the park’s reservation system. Nightly rate is $150 plus taxes, with discounted rates of $100 plus taxes during July 7–September 1, December 1–December 20, and January 3–February 13. Check-in is at 3:00 pm (via a door code sent with your confirmation) and check-out is at 12:00 pm. A $20 extra-vehicle fee applies, with a limit of 6 people per yurt. Dead Horse Point has no natural water source, so plan to bring drinking water and use the provided spigots for drinking, cooking, and cleaning.

Rules for the yurt include no smoking and no cooking inside, with cooking done outside and fires restricted to the established fire pits. Outdoor propane grill use is provided, and wood must be purchased (not gathered from the environment). Quiet hours run from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. Pets are not allowed within the yurts (service animals following ADA rules are permitted), and guests must keep pets attended and leashed under 6 feet where allowed in the park.
