Above the School Yard

Above the School Yard is a compact sector within South Cliff at Mt. Wells, with three routes reaching about 16 m. The sector combines trad and sport climbing.

The approach from the South Cliff area is typically 5–10 minutes, though approaches elsewhere in the area range to 10–20 minutes. Rockfall is a regular occurrence at Mt. Wells, so wear a helmet and inspect committed features before climbing, particularly after wet weather. Leave no trace, do not light fires, and obtain permission from the first-ascent party before modifying an existing route. Parking at South Cliff is arranged perpendicular to the road to maximize space.
