Prisoner Wall

Loading map…

Prisoner Wall is a small climbing sector within Mt. Wells near Victoria, British Columbia, with three documented routes. The crag is part of a predominantly sport-climbing area, with some trad climbing elsewhere in the Mt. Wells network, and the rock is basalt.

From the Mt. Wells Regional parking lot, drive about 800 m along Humpback Road to the east-side pull-off, then follow the forest trail. At the fork, take the right branch for Prisoner Wall and the nearby Toilet Wall, Cooked Goose, Pancake Corner, and South Cliffs; most crags in this group are reached in roughly 5–10 minutes.

Mt. Wells receives afternoon sun but dries slowly and can remain wet in rain. Helmets are required because rockfall is a recognized park hazard. Camping and fires are prohibited, and climbers are asked to leave no trace and obtain first-ascent-party permission before modifying existing routes.
