A Frame Hut

Alpine hutA Frame Hut is a three-bunk backcountry hut in Hakatere Conservation Park, run by the Department of Conservation in the Mid and South Canterbury area. Use is free and bookings are not required—use is first come, first served. Te Araroa Trail walkers should register and purchase the Te Araroa Trail Pass.
The hut provides three bunk beds and has a pit latrine toilet. No drinking water is provided, and there’s no fireplace.
