Alford Hut

Alford Hut is a private backcountry hut in New Zealand’s Canterbury high country. The hut has 7 bunks, with mattresses and an open fire for heat; you’ll need to bring your sleeping bag, food, and a cooking stove.

Access is via the Mt Alford Track and the wider route network around Alford Scenic Reserve, starting near the Methven/Alford Settlement Road area. Access easements to Mt Alford are closed annually from 20 September to 20 October for farming purposes, and no dogs/pets are allowed on conservation land; pack out all rubbish.
