Architect Creek Hut

Architect Creek Hut is a small backcountry hut managed by the Department of Conservation in Westland Tai Poutini National Park (West Coast). It’s a standard two-bunk hut in the Glaciers area and is used as a first-come, first-served overnight stop—no bookings are required. Use includes a pit latrine, and drinking water is untreated.

For planning, the hut has two bunk places and no fireplace. DOC indicates you can stay by buying a Standard Hut Ticket for each night and placing it in the honesty box at the hut; alternatively, a Backcountry Hut Pass gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for 12 months. Fees to 30 June 2026 are listed for adult, youth, and child/infant categories on the hut’s official page.
