Blowfly Hut

Blowfly Hut is a Department of Conservation standard eight-bunk backcountry hut in the Haast, Paringa & Moeraki rivers area (West Coast, South Westland Weheka area). It’s used for overnight trips on the wider South Westland backcountry network.

The hut is first come, first served with standard hut tickets (bookings not required). There’s a fee for stays (adult/night and youth/night pricing is listed for hut ticketing through 30 June 2026), and you place the appropriate standard hut ticket in the honesty box at the hut for each night. Inside, it has mattresses, a fireplace, and drinking water is untreated. Toilets are available with pit latrine disposal.
