Blowhard Hut
Blowhard Hut is a historic, unstaffed alpine shelter on the Great Alpine Road near Mount Hotham (Hotham Heights, Victoria). It’s used as a day-use refuge and as a basic backcountry stop rather than a serviced campground, with very limited provisions on site.
Use is free and it’s first-come, first-served with no bookings or reservations required. Expect minimal shelter from the elements—no running water, toilets, or heating—and plan to bring warm clothing, food, and drinking water; pack out all trash. Access from the Harrietville side follows the Great Alpine Road past Mt Blowhard, and the hut sits set back on the roadside with parking nearby.
