GGS Hut

GGS Hut (Geelong Grammar School Hut) is a wilderness hut in Victoria’s Alpine National Park area near Mt Stirling, used as a public refuge when it’s not being used by school activities. It’s not a bookable, exclusive overnight hut—overnight use is based on first-come, first-served shelter (and you can camp nearby rather than expecting the hut itself to be reserved).

It sits at about 1,670 m, with no running water, power, or toilets provided. Plan to be fully self-sufficient: bring your own water, waste solutions, and all food/sleeping gear; also expect shared-use behavior in bad weather rather than private occupancy.
