Bluff Spur Memorial Hut

Bluff Spur Memorial Hut is a backcountry shelter on Mount Stirling, used as an emergency refuge when conditions on the exposed slopes turn sour. It sits among snow gums near the upper mountain area, and its purpose is tied to safety and shelter rather than regular accommodation.

Use is free and it’s not set up for booking. Plan to camp with self-sufficiency in mind: there’s no drinking water provided, and there’s no power or shower. A solid-fuel wood heater is inside for warmth and cooking (use fire carefully and sparingly), and you should carry your own tent in case the hut is full or unsafe.
