Bob Lee Hut
Bob Lee Hut is a Snowfarm backcountry cabin in the Pisa Range (Cardrona Valley) built for overnight stays. It’s an off-grid hut with an open-plan bunk setup that sleeps up to 7 people, and it has a log burner with firewood plus a gas cooker and a small range of cooking utensils/cutlery.
Access is by trek from the Snowfarm base—about 5.4 km in winter and roughly 6.5 km depending on the route used. Winter stays run on a timed check-in system, with an overnight trail pass required for hut guests during the winter season; bag transfer services are not available to Bob Lee (you carry your own gear). Sanitation is via an outdoor pit toilet (a “long drop”).
For winter operations, bring your sleeping bag and your own food and drinking water; there’s no electricity or running water. Booking is handled through Snowfarm’s hut booking process (including options that let you book the hut exclusively). Dogs are not generally allowed at the huts, but Bob Lee can be booked exclusively for dog-friendly stays.
