Burgers and Fries

Loading map…

Burgers and Fries is a mostly traditional climbing crag in the Smoke Bluffs near Squamish, with roughly 50–57 routes. The wall is characterized by granite cracks, gently sloping sections, and slab climbing, with routes ranging from 5.4 to 5.11c and a strong concentration of moderate lines.

The approach takes about 10–20 minutes, and the area is close to the parking lot. Top ropes are straightforward to arrange, with picnic benches near the crag, making it useful for introductory sessions and footwork practice. It is frequently busy, and nearby houses make considerate behaviour important.

The left side receives more sun and wind and dries especially quickly; the right side has greater tree cover and can take longer to dry. The route Burgers and Fries is a 25 m, 5.7 PG13 traditional climb, with a first ascent by Jim Manuel, Ed Spat, and Brian Denhertog in 1979.
