Buron de la Gaïelle

Buron de la Gaïelle is a backcountry alpine hut operated by Denis Brugière, set at the foot of the Cantal massif in the Volcans natural park on the commune of Collandres. The property is set up inside a renovated buron: the former cattle area is now used for guest accommodation, and the former cave has been converted into a kitchen and dining/refectory space.

The hut sleeps about 8 to 10 people in a dormitory. It runs on solar power for electricity and hot water, and meals are available by reservation; it’s also intended as a base for hikes on GR routes, with options for day circuits around the massif.
