Buron de la Montagne du Clos

Buron de la Montagne du Clos is a private stone buron used as a backcountry shelter near Thiézac in the Monts du Cantal (about 1,340 m). It’s kept open for respectful hikers on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations).

Sleep system is simple: it accommodates up to 8 people with places to lie on an upper floor, plus a ground-floor space with tables and benches. A fireplace is available on the ground floor; wood handling is part of staying there (bring your own fire-starting plan).

For logistics, there’s no stove, and there aren’t latrines for the buron. Water is available nearby from a spring/source; because of nearby livestock, it needs filtration before drinking.
