Chasing Rainbows

Chasing Rainbows is a 5.10d climb in Mirkwood Forest, in Squamish’s Lower Malamute. The route follows an overhanging granite dyke with large, positive holds and runs for approximately 28 metres.

Most of the line is bolted, but small- to medium-sized cams are useful for the crux. The climb is hidden from the railway tracks and is reached by an approach pitch or a traverse from the left.

The first ascent was completed by John Howe, Randy Atkinson, and Paul Kindree in 1979. Rappel from the chains at the top, or continue by scrambling through ledges and trees above if climbing additional pitches.
