Christie O'Rourkes Hut

Christie O'Rourkes Hut is a large open-plan backcountry shelter on a private enclave within Alpine National Park. It sits beside the Ingeegoodbee River Track and is set up for mixed backcountry use, including walkers and horse riders, with the hut kept unlocked so visitors can use the logbook on arrival.

The hut has a mix of slab and dirt floor, corrugated-iron roofing, and a partially enclosed front veranda used for feed and harness storage by horse riders. Water is provided via a tank and pipes, and there is a fireplace with a 200 litre hot-water drum; heating is by open fireplace or slow-combustion stove. Access is best made along the Ingeegoodbee Track from the Barry Way near Suggan Buggan, either on foot or by 4WD.
