Alpine hutCope Hut is a backcountry emergency refuge in Alpine National Park, centred on the historic Cope Hut complex. It was built in 1929 as a ski touring refuge and is still intended for emergencies only, rather than regular overnight use.
Cope Hut Camping Area sits about 400 m from the carpark on the Great Alpine Road. Camping is available instead via bookable camping platforms nearby or on the grassy plains areas among the snowgums; the hut itself is not the primary place for planned stays.
