Claw Peak

Claw Peak is an alpine climbing objective in British Columbia’s Waddington Range, associated with the Tellot Glacier and the Plummer Hut. The area has three recorded alpine routes, including the West Ridge, a short 5.6 YDS, Grade II trad route of about 400 feet (121 m) that climbs solid rock above the hut. Bring a small rock rack for the West Ridge.

The peak also has more committing history and terrain: a 1954 first-ascent party climbed a new northeast-face route, while a 1983 north-face line was recorded at Grade IV, 5.8, A3. Historical access to the West Ridge involved descending about 1.5 miles of névé before climbing a snow-and-rock face to the ridge. Approach information remains limited, so scout committed features carefully and check current glacier, snow, and wet-weather conditions before committing.
