Climb and Punishment

Climb and Punishment is a 5.10d trad route at Penny Lane in Squamish’s Smoke Bluffs. The 30 m line follows a thin flake just left of Partners in Crime, with sustained movement and a crux of positive crimping rather than jamming.

Climb the opening flake at about 5.9 to the former fixed-pin position, then pull through the crux on crimps to jugs. Move right to an easier crack and follow it for roughly 30 feet to the anchor. Protection is described as thin nuts through 3-inch cams; the route’s first ascent is credited to Peter Croft and Tami Knight in 1981.
