Cougar Crag

Loading map…

Cougar Crag is a small granite sport-climbing crag beside the river in Cypress Falls Park. Its nine routes are mostly slightly overhung and concentrate in the 5.11 and 5.12 range, with grades from 5.10c to 5.12b.

The routes are short, generally 12–14 m, and use four to six bolts. Options include the 5.10c Awkward Proposition, 5.11a Pool Boy, 5.11b Flake Route, and harder lines such as Slippin' Jimmy, Double Shot No Foam Soy Latte, On the Prowl 24/7, and Jealous Husband. Pool Boy is a useful warm-up; Flake Route is 13 m with five bolts.

Cougar Crag can suit hot summer days, but the belay stations commonly remain damp until late summer. The crag lies near private properties and is also used by hikers and dog walkers, so keep activity contained and be respectful of other park users.
