Curtis Memorial Hut

Curtis Memorial Hut is a backcountry hut run by the Department of Conservation in the Rangitata and Rakaia Rivers area of the Canterbury region, within Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park. It’s a standard four-bunk hut, with no standard DOC track access—route planning and navigation are required (map, compass, and GPS).

Use is first come, first served; standard bookings aren’t required. The hut has four bunks and is equipped with a fireplace, with untreated drinking water and toilet facilities using a pit latrine disposal system.
