Daleys Flat Hut

Daleys Flat Hut is a serviced 20-bunk backcountry hut in Mount Aspiring National Park, managed by the Department of Conservation. It’s first come, first served (no booking required), but fees apply; you’ll need to put a serviced hut ticket into the honesty box for each night’s stay. Backcountry Hut Passes are valid from 1 May to 30 September, but not from 1 October to 30 April.

Facilities include a water supply supplied by tank water (drink requires treatment/handling as it’s not treated at the source), pit-latrine toilets, and a fireplace. Huts tickets determine costs seasonally (with fees described on the operator page), and the hut is in a high-end backcountry setting on the Queenstown/Wakatipu side of the national park.
