Devil's Creek Hut
Devil's Creek Hut is a 6-bunk backcountry hut in Mount Richmond Forest Park on the Wakamarina Track. It’s reached by walking or cycling from the road end, and it sits in a large clearing above the Wakamarina River. Facilities include a wood burner, space to camp outside the hut, and a long-drop toilet a short walk away.
Use is straightforward: bookings aren’t required, and places are first-come, first-served. For stays, you buy a Standard Hut Ticket (place it in the honesty box at the hut) or use a Backcountry Hut Pass. The current adult price is $10 per night (youth 5–17: $5 per night; children 0–4: free). The nearest road end is Wakamarina Road, with the track starting at Butchers Flat Campsite; the track from Butchers Flat carpark isn’t accessible to 4WD vehicles, so park at the carpark and walk or cycle to the trail start.
