Dianes Hut

Dianes Hut is a basic six-bunk backcountry hut in Ruahine Forest Park (Hawke’s Bay region), run by the Department of Conservation. It’s set up for tramping day trips or for linking sections as part of a multi-day tramp.

The hut is about 20 m off Koau Stream at an altitude of 650 m. Use is free and bookings aren’t required—plan on first come, first served. There’s a mattress and a fireplace, plus toilets with a pit latrine disposal setup.
