Dynamo Hut

Dynamo Hut is a Department of Conservation four-bunk backcountry hut in the Skippers area (Otago). It’s a first-come, first-served hut (no bookings required), but you still need a hut ticket for each night you stay and fees apply.

The hut has a mattress and a fireplace, plus toilets with a pit-latrine disposal system. Drinking water is untreated, so plan on treating it before use. Access is via the Skippers area using the unsealed Skippers road to Skippers Point (4WD recommended), then follow the Dynamo Hut Track; plan about 4–6 hours with advanced-level difficulty.
