Eagle Cabin
Eagle Cabin is a Tongass National Forest backcountry wilderness hut on the east bank of the Situk River near an airstrip, serving as a base for fishing and hunting. The cabin is open year-round, sleeps five, and has three single bunks plus one double bunk (one-room pan-abode style structure).
Inside are a table and benches, and there’s an oil heater with a provided outhouse and campfire ring; visitors need to bring their own #1 diesel oil or kerosene for the heater. Water isn’t provided—water can be taken from the Situk River and should be treated before use. Reservations are required and made through Recreation.gov; the rental rate is $60/night.
