Vitus Lake Cabin
Vitus Lake Cabin is a remote backcountry cabin on Alaska’s Gulf Coast, managed by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. The cabin is currently closed due to foundation and structural damage, so it isn’t taking official bookings.
The cabin is a basic, unfurnished-style wilderness use cabin, with you bringing your own sleeping gear and stove fuel. Expect to plan for water treatment/boiling, and for bear activity and rapidly changing coastal weather typical of this region.
